The panel will have an informational interview type feel with panelists sharing their career paths, a look at what their job entails, transferrable skills for those looking to make a change, tips for uncovering opportunities, advice for others, and how to make brave leaps. Michelle Avery, Senior Director, Investor Relations, Pandion Therapeutics Michelle earned her PhD in neuroscience from UMass Medical. She spent 4.5 years at MacDougall Biomedical Communications – an agency focused solely on life sciences communications which provides public relations, investor relations, corp comms and strategic services. She left to work for one of her clients, Summit Therapeutics, for 5 years – a UK headquartered, dual-listed company. She headed up US investor relations/corp comms and patient engagement. Michelle joined Pandion in September to head up IR/corp comms. Leah Cole, Director of Immunology at Sanofi Pasteur Leah Cole leads a group of research scientists working in the preclinical space. As her work is located within the first step of the product development pipeline, Leah’s goal is to identify prophylactic vaccine candidates for infectious disease pathogens. Leah has had a variety of roles with WEST and has been a member of the grant writing as well as the programming/events committee. She is currently a member of the advisory board. Guissou Dabiri, President, GD Scientific & Medical Writing Guissou is a medical writer running her own business as GD Scientific & Medical Writing, LLC for the past 15 years. In her business she works with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to prepare regulatory documents (protocols, clinical study reports, investigator’s brochures, briefing documents, submission documents, and more) and write manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. Previous to this business, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry for ~10 years involved in many aspects of drug development from Phase I-IV, including clinical development, study operations and regulatory affairs. Her educational background includes an AB from Bryn Mawr College in biology and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in cell biology. Evelyn Volsi Finegold, Medical Science Liaison, Clinical Development, Jounce Therapeutics Evelyn is a biologist with a PhD in Immunology, with 10 years of research experience in molecular biology, proteomics, molecular immunology and immunology, mostly in Brazil but also NYC (visiting student at Rockefeller University). Currently, she is MSL at Jounce Therapeutics since 2019, based in NY city covering more than 20 states in US. Prior to Jounce, she worked at AstraZeneca Latin America and Novartis (Brazil), 6 years with Oncology and Immuno-Oncology (NSCLC, bladder, HNSCC) and 5 years with neurology, ophthalmology, immunology, and dermatology. She also has several years of clinical trial expertise, pre and post launch experience, working inside Pharma for 10 years in Medical Affairs, as a Regional Medical Director, Medical Director and MSL. Finally, she also has 2 years of experience in marketing as a Brand Manager in Oncology. She is fluent in Portuguese and English, but also speak Spanish and started learning Hebrew.
