 Speakers Include: 

 

Mari Anne Snow, is CEO and co-founder of SophiaThink, a management consulting firm that specializes in the utilization of social networking, social media and collaboration technologies in highly regulated industrues. In addition, she advises companies on data privacy, internal governance requirements and data security related to these emerging technologies. Before SophiaThink, Mari Anne held senior positions as a business technologist and organizational development professional at the State Street Corporation as well as other companies. Mari Anne is an Adjunct Professor at Bentley University.

 

Mark G. Lohr, CFO, Rockefeller Consulting Technology Integration, a Cambridge-based company that helps its client organizations develop and extract value from their employees’ networks for competitive advantage in selling and sourcing. Besides his financial duties there, Mark conducts LinkedIn workshops and training sessions for clients. Previously, Mark was Founder and Principal Consultant at Ambient Inc., a Boston-area firm providing management consulting services to the software, telecomm and financial services industries; Managing Director, Finance of the systems and operating divisions of Putnam Investments and Fidelity Investments; and General Manager of the Intercarrier Services Division at Appex Inc. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the East End House community center in Cambridge, has served on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Children’s Books and is currently an Advisor to the Newton-Tanzania Collaborative, Inc. Mark earned an MBA in Management of High Technology Companies from Northeastern University and BBA in Accounting and Economics from the University of Michigan.

 

Adam Weiss is a successful educational podcaster and podcast consultant, as well as a sought-after digital media strategist. He is the creator of the award-winning Current Science & Technology Podcast for the Museum of Science in Boston, which he hosted for more than two years. He now hosts his critically-acclaimed Boston Behind the Scenes Podcast, and has profiled everyone from street vendors to senators and astronauts in his career. A former bench scientist, expert interviewer and communicator, he aims to show that digital communication is more about story, presentation, and technique than fancy gear and tech toys.

 

Carissa Caramanis O'Brien, President, Red Box Communications, a Maynard MA based company that assists clients in developing  marketing communications, brand management and PR strategies. Carissa’s many specialties include social media strategy, content strategy & development, identity & branding and non-profit marketing and social fundraising. Previously, she was Global Marketing Communications Manager at Philips Healthcare where she led the strategic planning and execution of global marketing communications for the Cardiac Resuscitation business unit, including worldwide go-to-market support for automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and advanced life support (ALS) products. Carissa is currently Director of Communications at Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation and Social Media Consultant at Chronicles of EMS, a Web-based reality series about the challenges of Emergency Medical Services. She received a BS in Journalism from Boston University and is a licensed EMT-B.

Tamsen McMahon, is Director of Digital and Strategic Initiatives at Sametz Blackstone Associates where she specializes in helping people and organizations align strategies in service of change. Prior to that, she served  the Director of Development Communications at Harvard Medical School. She has also served as Director of Marketing & Communications at The Boston Conservatory, Head of Exhibition Planning at the Peabody Essex Museum, and as a change management consultant. Tamsen holds an MBA in Organizational Behavior & Management Communications and an MA in Arts Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Pat McGloin (Moderator), is a global marketing executive who is best known for her leadership in the areas of strategic positioning, branding, go-to-market planning and execution. Pat inspires teams to peak performance and develops innovative, high impact programs for organizations of various sizes. Early in her career, she co-founded a specialized book publishing company, and has maintained that entrepreneurial spirit in her leadership roles in Fortune 100 companies such as Digital Equipment Corporation. Most recently, Pat was Director of Marketing and Communications at IBM. Pat’s Harvard education included a major in Social Studies with a focus on International Political Economy. As an aspiring marine biologist, she majored in math and biology in her previous studies. Pat currently chairs the Marketing Committee for WEST.
