Panelists Bios

Lindsey DeVaux is the Associate Director of Lab Operations, Facilities, and IT at Seismic Therapeutic, where she supports research teams by managing lab operations, safety and compliance programs, and the infrastructure that keeps labs running smoothly day to day. She joined Seismic in 2022 and has a background in biomedical engineering and biotechnology, with a career path that transitioned from academic research into lab operations.

Uyanga Ganbaatar is Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant at Safety Partners, part of Trinity Consultants, based in Boston, MA, where she supports biotech and life science organizations in building safe, compliant research environments. Her background spans biochemistry, biomedical engineering, genetic engineering, and CRISPR-based technology development. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s from the University of Connecticut, where she developed a CRISPR-based nucleic acid detection platform as part of her graduate thesis. She passionate about making science and medical technology accessible worldwide, and brings that mission into my work by helping teams operate safely, thoughtfully, and effectively. Today, she leverages her scientific and regulatory expertise to support life science organizations through safety program development, compliance guidance, and on‑site consulting.

Sharon Wilhelm has spent more than 25 years advancing therapies and enabling scientific discovery—first as a bench chemist and now as a Lab & Facility Planner with Savills. With a career spanning drug discovery, tech transfer, laboratory operations, and large-scale facility planning, Sharon brings a uniquely integrated perspective to building environments that support cutting-edge science. At Savills, she partners with biotech and life science organizations to translate research goals into functional, efficient, and future-ready laboratory spaces. From programming and relocations to equipment procurement and operational establishment, Sharon ensures that lab infrastructure, workflows, and adjacencies align with scientific objectives and long-term growth strategies. During the panel, Sharon will share insights from her mid-career pivot from scientist to lab planning consultant, lessons learned along the way, and the expanding career opportunities within lab facilities and operations for those looking to make an impact beyond the bench.
