Giving & Receiving Feedback: Discover How to Make These Conversations Easier for Both of You
Feedback is an opportunity to strengthen trust, improve performance, and deepen professional relationships. The goal of this workshop is for participants to understand that giving and receiving feedback is not one-size-fits-all. Participants will learn how to set the stage ahead of delivering corrective advice. They'll reflect on what they need to feel safe and comfortable receiving feedback, and they'll learn how to customize their feedback for anyone on their team, including their manager.
Participants will learn the basic steps to giving meaningful feedback in a way that feels safe for both the giver and the receiver. They will explore the importance of positive reinforcement/encouragement as the first step in offering feedback. They will walk away with questions they can use to start any feedback discussion.
Etta Jacobs is the Founder and Principal of Etta Jacobs Executive and Career Transformation Coaching, an executive coaching and training organization with the mission of empowering mid-level managers and guiding senior leaders to achieving even greater efficacy and influence. Prior to becoming an executive coach, Etta worked in the corporate world, at two Fortune 500 companies, where she supported her teams through continuous change and disruption. Etta coaches individuals and teams at Amica Insurance, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Program, Inari, Novartis, Seattle Children’s, and Teradyne, and Social Innovation Forum. She holds a Master of Organizational Psychology degree and is a past President of the Board of WEST. Etta currently serves as a member of WEST's Advisory Board.
