As we reflect on a quarter-century of impact, we’re inviting our community to be part of this milestone in a meaningful way. Inspiration: Alison Conlon From: Karin von Hodenberg Reason: Alison is an exceptional leader who drives meaningful culture change and consistently empowers and inspires women, both within her immediate sphere and beyond. Her involvement creates a ripple effect of positive impact wherever she goes.
Inspiration: Dr. Rita Goldman Jacobs From: Etta Jacobs Reason: Dr. Jacobs, was an innovative scientist who practiced medicine and created protocols for pain management. She was also was my mother. She became an anesthesiologist at a time when women rarely pursued ambitious careers. Through her actions, she made it clear that sister and I could do anything we might imagine with our careers.
Inspiration: Mae Jemison From: Brendan St. Amant Reason: First Black woman in space and advocate for STEM education. Also a Trekkie!
Inspiration: Samantha Singer From: Chris Dwan Reason: In the brief time I reported to Samantha, she taught me a huge amount about how to be an effective leader from any level within an organization.
Inspiration: Elena Spencer From: Katie Brandt Reason: With gratitude to Elena for introducing me to the powerful and inspiring WEST community! Elena is a force for inclusivity, STEM advancement and empowerment for all.
