Rethinking Networking for Introverts: A Strategy Session for Mindset and Behavioral ShiftsNetworking. What comes to mind when you hear that word? Do you see a room filled with happy people deep in conversation? Or does it ignite an image of you showing up and not knowing what to say? Are you worried that you won't know how to start a meaningful conversation, or how to join a group deep in conversation? Or are you most dreading the idea of an evening filled with superficial small talk? If any of these images or concerns sound familiar, you have a lot of company. Most people—and especially introverts—find networking challenging for various reasons. We hear this a lot in our WEST community, and we are here to offer effective strategies and new ways of looking at networking to make the experience more meaningful and less stressful. We've invited three coaches in our community to share strategies and new perspectives on how to navigate an evening of networking without the worry and dread. WEST Board members Laurie Bohn and Pallavi Srivastava Srivastava along with WEST Past President Etta Jacobs will share key insights, strategies and stories of success. You will also get to hear directly from a senior leader, a self-described introvert, who has found ways to prepare herself ahead of time so she can show up with confidence. She's learned that it's all about the preparation! At the end of the in-person session, you will:
Laurie Bohn, Pallavi Srivastava, and Etta Jacobs will help you set realistic expectations, and navigate the challenges successfully so you can show up at your next networking event with confidence and a plan.
