Impact (Sustainable) Investing


More and more individuals are seeking the peace of mind associated with having an investment portfolio aligned with their values. This discussion will explore how investing with an impact lens, i.e. considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, enables everyone to spot companies with a strong capacity for long term value creation.

William M. Gambardella, CFA, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Global Investment Office (GIO)

Mr. Gambardella is the head of Offshore Solutions and a portfolio manager in the Wealth Advisory Solutions group as well as a member of the Investing with Impact team. He plays a key role in multimanager portfolio construction for the Firm’s portfolios for non-US clients as well as the Investing with Impact portfolios. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he spent 10 years in the Private Bank of Credit Suisse where he focused on portfolio construction and manager analysis for the Firm’s ultra-high net worth clients and institutions. Early in his career, Mr. Gambardella was an equity research analyst for Citi/Smith Barney covering the Chemicals sector. He holds a BBA degree in Management from Hofstra University and an MBA in Finance from St. John’s University. He is also a CFA® charterholder and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.

Judith Reed, Financial Advisor, Morgan Stanley

Judith Reed has been in the investment industry since 1983. As an advisor with Morgan Stanley in Boston she focuses on helping professional women in the Life Science Industry create financial plans for themselves and their families. Together we create portfolios that align values and investments that bring goals and dreams into existence. She graduated from The University of Delaware with a BA in International Relations and earned an MBA degree from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. She has volunteered at WEST events for the past 4 years.
