Organizational Change to Achieve EquityIn this workshop, facilitators will guide participants in identifying culture and organizational change necessary to achieving equity in the workplace. Participants will become familiar with key domains and best practices for organizational change. Then, they will identify and begin exploring opportunities to bring learnings back to their organizations. Participants will review research and studies exploring the interaction between individual identities, power, and privilege in the workplace. Interpersonal, institutional, ideological, and ideological dimensions will be explored.
Presenter As Director of Partnerships, Sheera Bornstein works to grow YW Boston’s leadership development and racial justice programs. She connects with corporations, NGOs, educational institutions, and other community institutions to identify LeadBoston candidates, support efforts to improve workplace inclusivity and help develop cross-sector networks. Sheera joined YW with professional experience in strategy consulting, conflict resolution, and economics. Most recently, Sheera served as a strategy consultant for FSG, a global firm that advises corporations, foundations, NGOs, and collaborations on their social impact and shared value strategies. Prior to FSG, Sheera completed a Residence in Social Enterprise with New Sector Alliance and Citizen Schools. Before Citizen Schools, Sheera was a facilitator at Seeds of Peace where she designed curriculum and facilitated daily dialogue sessions for youth affected by local and global conflicts. Additionally, Sheera has served as a mediator, trainer and court liaison for a number of community mediation programs including Metropolitan Mediation Services and the Harvard Mediation Program. Sheera has a degree in Economics from Oberlin College.
