Description:

Everyone is using - or talking about - social networking technologies like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.  In this three-hour interactive workshop, you will learn how to best use these cutting edge tools in a business context, including:

  • What social networking technologies are
  • Why people are using them
  • How people are using them
  • Which to use and how to use them for professional enhancement 

You will also learn how to manage them so they don't take over your life, as well as basic etiquette for appropriate use.

Workshop Leader:

Lisa Gualtieri Ph.D. is Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Public Health and Family Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine, where she teaches a course on Online Consumer Health. She also taught New Technologies for Health Communication at Emerson College’s Summer Institute for Social Marketing and Health Communication. Lisa is Editor-in-Chief of eLearn Magazine, the first online publication of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). She also writes a blog, maintains a facebook page, and can be followed on twitter. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University.
