Acquiring Intellectual Property

"ACQUIRING TECHNOLOGY FROM UNIVERSITIES (IN YOUR LIFETIME...)"

Thursday, March 26, 2009

 6:00pm-9:00pm

Description:
Join WEST for an unusual opportunity to understand how the "other side" views and approaches deal-making. The eye-opening panel discussion will consider obtaining rights to intellectual property (IP) from all sides of the process including: an investor, a licensor, a technology transfer specialist, and a patent attorney.  Get an insider's perspective, including:

  1. Understand the key sticking points in technology valuations and how to overcome them
  2. Ways to conduct successful term sheet negotiations
  3. What to consider in licensing to new ventures
  4. How to build successful long-term relationships

The event includes refreshments and plenty of time to ask questions and meet other WEST members. Everyone is welcome to attend!  Don't miss this event if you are an entrepreneur, future entrepreneur, inventor, licensor, technology transfer specialist, investor, attorney, or simply want to learn more about how inventions become businesses. • Robert Creeden, MBA, Managing Director of the Center for Innovative Ventures (CIV) at Partners Healthcare
