Come join us for a combined WEST/Ellevate panel event, “Entrepreneurship: building teams and bridging the gap between technology, finance, and marketing.” This talented and experienced panel of women will discuss their perspectives and experiences as it relates to starting a new company or leveraging their skills to assist others with an entrepreneurial endeavor. Come hear the stories of this experienced panel and engage in discussion to learn how they got involved in start-up companies and how you might explore this world.

 

Panel members:

Jill Balis, Chief Marketing Officer, The Grommet, the place to discover innovative products from entrepreneurs and small businesses, and learn the stories behind each one. Each weekday, The Grommet introduces intriguing new products that have been carefully selected by our team. Our goal is to find unique, undiscovered products and help them succeed. Before joining The Grommet, Jill held marketing leadership positions at several start-ups and early stage companies, including Orbitz, RetailMeNot, and PillPack. Jill earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Monica Gauba, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, EventHues, a marketplace of local and trusted event providers including caterers, entertainers, group activities and venues for unique experiences. Monica previously held product management leadership roles at Nokia and PennWell Corporation where she was responsible for launching new products and services. She has also worked as a management consultant at KPMG Consulting. At KPMG she was responsible for architecting e-commerce systems for clients in financial services and the public sector. She has also worked as a software engineer at The MathWorks and Comverse Technology. She earned her Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Math at Clark University and her MBA from Babson College.

Felicia Jadczak and Rachel MurrayCo-founders, She Geeks Out, a certified B Corp that builds dynamic communities through events, networking and education. Felicia is a recognized voice in the field of gender diversity. She has worked in the technology industry for over ten years, specializing in the creation and development of innovative programs and solutions for an R&D audience. She has extensive experience in providing strategic guidance for diversity and gender inclusiveness across cross-functional teams. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature from Haverford and her MBA and Masters in Information Systems from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University.

Rachel has managed websites for a variety of companies and organizations, small and large, including the World Health Organization. She has broad experience in understanding team dynamics, having managed web teams both abroad and stateside. She has worn many hats, from coding websites by hand to managing large migration and integration projects. Rachel received her Bachelor’s degree in History from Brandeis University.

Erica Zahka, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Own The Boardroom, the go-to brand for how to present your best-self in any business situation.
