'NAVIGATING CHANGE: MANAGING PERSONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL TRANSITIONS' WORKSHOP

Description:

Has your funding been cut back, but you're expected to continue delivering at the same level? Have you taken a new position with different responsibilities? Has the last reorganization presented you with your third new manager this year? Has your company ever been acquired? Are you excited by change – or do you dread it? 

 

In this participatory workshop you will learn strategies for not just surviving, but flourishing in times of change. Whether you are dealing with a personal or organizational change, this interactive session will hep you navigate the dynamics of change and what you can do to manage the transitions. You will become more savvy in understanding:

  • Why you are reacting the way you are
  • How to get the information you and your group need to anticipate the impact of change
  • How to let go of what was, and to embrace what will be
  • How to be proactive in the process of change
  • How to survive and thrive through the transition

The workshop will utilize and provide:

  • Research on the dynamics of change and transitions
  • Scenarios that illustrate real work dilemmas and challenges
  • Small group discussions that generate practical and smart solutions
  • Navigational tips and useful take aways

Cost:
Workshop: $90 Members; $95 Students/Postdocs; $120 Non-Members ($160 Workshop & Membership). Student/PostDoc Discount & Scholarship Information.

Workshop Leaders:

Jane Bermont and Laurie Margolies are partners in The Boston Mentoring and Coaching Collaborative where they specialize in coaching up-and-coming employees and managers in life sciences companies and engineering organizations.

 

Laurie Margolies, Principal, LAM & Associates, is a management, organizational consultant and executive coach who brings over twenty years of experience to her consulting practice.  Laurie focuses on team and organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, diversity and inclusion, and women’s advancement. Prior to this, Laurie served as Assistant Dean of Students at Wheaton College and Dean of Student Affairs at Wheelock College and held numerous positions in Fortune 100 environments. Laurie’s expertise has developed through these internal experiences and the diversity of her corporate and not-for profit-clients. Laurie holds a Bachelors Degree from Tufts University and a Masters Degree from Boston University.  She is a Board member of the Human Resource Leadership Forum (HRLF).

Jane Bermont, President, Bermont & Associates, is a management consultant with 25 years of experience in change management, diversity and inclusion, teambuilding and management coaching.  Jane founded Bermont & Associates, LLC of Newton, MA in 1995. Jane’s graduate clinical training and experience informs her practice as a coach to executives and professionals. She is certified by the Center for Creative Leadership to administer Benchmarks, a 360 feedback instrument. Her previous positions include EVP, Ibis Consulting Group and Senior Consultant, WFD (Work/Family Directions) and Ombuds at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge. Jane received her B.S. in psychology from Tufts University and her Master's degree from Bryn Mawr College.
