Description: Summer is a great time to expand your skill set! The WEST "Summer Skills Series" workshops are a series of small, interactive 3+ hour workshops in which you will gain new expertise through participatory exercises and lectures. These workshops are designed specifically for those in the science and technology industries, and are taught by outstanding workshop leaders. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 In this workshop you will learn how to recognize common barriers to communication in the work place, develop skills to convey your message more effectively, and interactively explore strategies for conflict resolution. Workshop leader is Joanne Kamens PhD, Director of Discovery at RXi Pharmaceuticals, founder of the Boston chapter of AWIS, and a frequent speaker at workshops for women in science.
NEGOTIATE FOR SUCCESS: OUTCOME DRIVEN DISCUSSIONS* Tuesday, June 29, 2010 A three-hour interactive, participatory workshop in which you will prepare yourself for successful negotiations in the work place.
